Macbeth Killing Time - Heart Productions again set about re-defining the magic of Shakespeare's glorious words. Dead and doomed to wander eternity, see cutting-edge powerful new writing in this stunning sequel to the Scottish Play...

Macbeth lies there, all alone, besieged by the voices of his guilt, forever preventing him from sleeping. This is the very same (but dead) Macbeth from the original Shakespeare tragedy – except this one is 400 years old! Somehow he’s been overlooked – until two Jobbing Angels, Delos & Kramm, are ordered to “accommodate” him. Which means putting him on trial and sending him on his way to the rest of eternity . . . . .

Macbeth is clearly guilty and deserves all he gets – doesn’t he? An intriguing celestial courtroom drama, in which Macbeth questions the very meaning of his time on earth – and ultimately ours.

Reviews

Audience Feedback:

“Love the idea of Macbeth having to face up to his crimes in the afterlife. The character of two angels is colourful and eccentric. They contrast and complement one another in their balance of payback and forgiveness - food for thought in our present times. A refreshing and innovative take on an old Shakespeare favourite. Full of dramatic energy from beginning to end.”

“ . . it was funny, and the 2 outlandish females were hilarious and athletic.”

“Thought the two jobbing Angels did a super job presenting the case for and against. And Macbeth was superb.”

Newspaper Reviews:

Three Weeks – 4 Stars

“ . . . a strong piece of Theatre from Heart Productions.”

“The mix of the Bard’s script and Frank Bramwell’s words works well here and is helped by the enthusiastic actors.”

“An accomplished and interesting performance of a play which challenges the three actors to the height of their ability. But they tackle it with passion and Macbeth’s remorse verges on the endearing.”

British Theatre Guide – 4 Stars

“Frank Bramwell's play, however, is that very rare bird, a genuinely unusual take on the play, which remains true to the spirit (and the words) of the original whilst making us question our assumptions about it.”

“It's a very original and clever piece of work, well performed by the cast of three: Alan Groucott (Macbeth), Laura Lee (Delos) and Maggie Grace (Kramm) under the tight direction of Victoria Grainger.”

 “ . . very compelling and, at times, even amusing . . “
